back! frm hk
HI! I'm back from HONGKONG. Actually quite a while back already. Okay shall blog briefly about the previous week in hk. (:

first day.
Landed in hk at around 5pm plus. Weather was not bad, around 20degrees. After unpacking at Prince Edward's Concourse Hotel, we went to Central to look at the nice christmas decorations and shops. Took lots of photos. x)



second day.
OCEAN PARK. It's really big. Went there b4 actually few years back, but forgot everything, so it's still a new experience. Weather not very friendly, around 15-16degrees. Quite a fun day. At first couldn't find our way around coz i realised we entered from the other island. Ocean Park consists of 2 islands actually. Travel by cable cars to reach the other one.

I like the cable cars, the distance is real long, so can see lots of the scenery. Went to sit this ocean ride with my sis where the chairs that you sit on move to stimulate what you watch on the screen. That kind. At the end, where all the water come out, they squirted water at our faces through the sides i think. We also to look at lots of exhibitions, from dinosaurs to pandas. Bought some panda souvenirs including a hp keychain. Oh and I like the cuttlefish there! NICE! (:


Ocean Park!

third day.
Sort of free and easy day. Weather still horribly cold.. Only brought one jacket which isnt fit for such cold weather. Went to different places to see the tourist attractions. Sat a boat.

night: SHOPPING at mong kok. wheee. That's the only real time that we did shopping in hk. -_- All the night markets are very crowded. Sell lots of cheap and nice stuff. Like clothes, accesories and stuff. Bought mostly clothes. Wanted to buy a belt, but have to buy the jeans together with it. o.0 We shopped all the way till like 11 in the night. By then was really tired... Quite in a bad mood coz the humidity was really low and my lips were swollen and cracking like nuts. ARGH!

fourth day.
Took a bus to Shen Zhen, China. I never knew that we could take bus to go China. Haha. Journey wasnt that long. Anyway, went there to see the "window of the world" aka "shi4 jie4 zhi1 chuang1". It's just this really huge place where the landmarks and wonders of the world are built. Articifial ones of course. There was the Singapore merlion there. But not the same size. Almost everything's reduced to ratios like 1:10 or 1:5. Some small ones were original size. Saw many many stuff like Taj Mahal, Effiel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Sydney's Opera House etc. It's a really nice place.



One setback was the weather. Became around 12 degrees. And inside I've only worn like 2 layers. COOOOOLLLLLDDDDD. Haha. And halfway had diarroea. What luck. =_=

fifth day
DISNEY LAND!!!! Finally, after waiting for like so manyyyy days!!! omg it rocked!!! Alright I admit I'm sorta too old for these kinda stuff, but I still like these kinda places. The magical touch. Sleeping beauty's castle and Tarzan's tree house and Space Mountain. Whoots!

Wore three layers of clothing, plus my jacket = 4 layers. Packed our bags and took a train to disneyland. From there we checked in one of the disney's hotel called hollywood hotel. Boy was it different from the one we were staying in the past few days. It's soo nice! With everything disney and mickey. The soap bottles, slippers, pen and everything. So we loaded our stuff and off we went!

We split into 2 groups. Mum, Dad and bro. Me and Sis. So me and my sis went to Tarzan's tree house first. At first we were quite apprehensive coz we didnt really like the idea of travelling on our own taking into account tt we can't speak much cantonese. But I can understand roughly tho. Haha.

After that we went on this mad hunt to find all the different characters to take photos with.

We visited every section. Alot of rides need queuing up and the queues were VERY LONG, so we didnt queue. In the end by lunch time we had travelled to all the sections but didnt even ride a single ride.... YET.

Had lunch together with family then off we went again. At first we went as 1 group to sit the train where it travels in a circle around the whole area. Then went to the whinnie the pooh ride through hundred acre wood. So cute!

Split up again. We went to ride the rides! Teacup, Space ride and Buzz Light year ride and others. Almost rode everything but we didn't manage to get the Space Mountain ride though, too many people and all the fast pass tix were sold out. Ah well. Halfway through there was this Disney Parade! All the characters performed and danced around. Mickey Minnie Donald Goofy Pluto Cinderella SnowWhite SleepingBeauty Chip&Dale Alice in Wonderland ToyStory LittleMermaid and more. It was very very spectacular.

Had tea break of hotdogs and hot chocolate, then we all met up again to take the boat ride down the river of the adventure land section.


Lion King Play

After dinner, we went to see this LION KING PLAY. It's damn nice! It's sort of like a musical where they act out the story of lion king (part I). With the characters like Simba, Nala and Scar. There were lots of dances and songs. The effects were cool like all the lightning and fires. It's in English by the way. And the people really can sing man. I really enjoyed that and I think it puts a good end to the day. Later..

Around 7pm, high above the sky of Sleeping Beauty castle there was a magnificent display of fireworks! They played all the star songs of the different shows and put up the display. Very very grand. Took lots of photos and videos of it.

Then it was "shopping for souvenir" time. Went to the disney shops to look for stuff. Bought a tee and a nice ruby ring (july birthstone: ruby). And pens too. Sis bought a hat with Stitch (lilo n stitch) on as the pic. Haha. My bro got himself a wizard hat (the kind where mickey wore in the magician thiggy) and a magical wand that lights up. Haha. I think the total cost was alot coz the stuff there were ex.

Stayed around to collect our photos that we took with mickey! (shall upload soon) And took photos. In the end we only left at around 11pm plus. Reached hotel and I found out that it was showing Lizzie Mcguire (the movie) on Disney channel on the tv! btw the tv was a big flat screen. So stayed up till v late to watch. heee. It was the best day I had, I think, in the whole trip.



sixth day
Pack up. Took a bus to "Inspirational Fountain" and rode the 4-wheeler bicycle (ahem crys hwee and sam). Explored a little, took pics (again). Then around 3 in the afternoon we set off for the airport and off we were back to Singapore! Reached at around 7pm. Real tired.... Haha.
